Описание

Join us for an afternoon and evening exploring the rich ornamentation and symbolism of traditional Moldovan carpets using Nordic felting methods instructed by the Danish Artistic collective Hedestrik and Moldovan visual artist Irina Clescenco.

The creative workshop led by Irina Clescenco, inviting participants to explore the meanings and stories behind traditional Moldovan carpet ornaments through artistic practice. The Danish collective Hedestrik will present the method of felting raw wool and give a short introduction to their work and practices. The result of the workshop will be 25 miniature carpets that will be exhibited at Bunker Gallery from 27 September – 11 October.

Through the workshop, participants will have an opportunity to exchange knowledge and discover connections between Danish and Moldovan craft traditions, discuss sustainability aspects of contemporary wool use and production across borders and inspire each other to explore new ways of using wool that are otherwise discarded of.

The evening will conclude with a community dinner, where participants are invited to share a meal, exchange experiences, and reflect together on the traditions and creative processes explored during the workshop.

The workshop will be held in English and Romanian.

No prior experience is required – the workshop is free and open to everyone interested in exploring tradition, symbolism and craftsmanship through a creative process. Registration is required as there are limited spots available, first come – first served.
